Flapstack is a daily pancake-flipping sort puzzle made by one person. This page says exactly what the website does with data. It will be updated, with the date above, before the iPhone app is released and again if a backend service starts receiving results - those changes are described at the end so nothing arrives as a surprise.
The website, today
Stored in your browser only. Your finished puzzles, streaks and any puzzle in progress are kept in your browser's local storage on your device. They never leave it. Clearing site data for flapstack.app deletes them and there is no copy anywhere else, so there is nothing to recover.
No accounts, no cookies, no analytics. The site has no sign-in, sets no cookies, and includes no analytics or advertising code. It does not use third-party fonts or scripts.
Sharing. The Share button hands the text of your result card to your device's share sheet, or copies it to the clipboard. What you do with it from there is up to you.
Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare sees the requests your browser makes - your IP address, the page requested, and browser headers - and applies its own privacy policy to that. Flapstack keeps no server-side logs of its own.
What will change, and when
Result submissions (planned). A future version will send each finished daily - the puzzle number, the list of flips you made, and a random identifier generated by your browser - to a Flapstack server, so the result card can say how your score compared with everyone else's. The identifier is not tied to your name, email or device account. Until that server exists, results wait in your browser and nothing is sent. This page will be updated on the day it changes.
The iPhone app (planned). The app will show ads through Google AdMob and offer a one-time purchase to remove them. AdMob's collection and your choices about it will be described here, in the app, and in the App Store privacy label before the app is available.
Your rights and contact
Because the website stores nothing about you outside your own browser, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on request - you hold the only copy. Questions about this policy: see the support page.
